swing arm for a raptor
#1
I am thinking of getting a yoshimura pipe for
my raptor because of the large hp and low noise.
is it necessary to get a swingarm also, since with
that much hp, every time i punch the throttle will
i do wheelies. Is it necessary to lengthen the raptor
so you can get holeshots and roost everyone.

I put a pipe, jet kit K&N and 12 tooth on my Raptor and have the stock length swingarm. Sometimes it is a little hard to get a good start because of the extra torque and HP and it pulls the wheels up pretty good. You definitely can't just pin the throttle from a dead stop and expect to keep the front wheels down and have any steering control. But at the same time, the stock Raptor is that way too to a lesser degree.
All in all, just be careful and use common sense and the stock swingarm is fine. But, a longer one would allow you to use more throttle sooner. . . maybe that will be my next mod.

I could beat my buddies piped raptor last year with my stock motor and the lonestar +1 (actually it's more like +2 1/2 when you get the measuring stick out)roundhousing swingarm by over 6 bike lengths in a 150 yard drag. I could really use all the power of the stock motor rather than waste it trying to keep the front end down.If you do decide to purchase one, I guarantee you'll love it!
