hey all yesterday my best friends 2000 honda recon bored 30 and a supertrap pipe was stolen when the police came they said that thay pushed down the road then tried to hot wire it and some how caught on fire it can be fixed. everything from the gas tank up is burned up i got a estimate or it today cause he is in the hospital and they said it was gonna be 1000-1500 to get it fixed there. it was sitting on his back porch with the porch light on and his mom was laying on the floor asleep right by it( u could see it through the sliding glass door). it didnt have and insurence and home owners wont cover it so he is out 3000 dollars. so i gess im going to fix it myslf and get the parts from atv salvage i figure i can get the parts for 500 and it really sucks cause he dont know it yet

Ouch....Just curious, did his mom get drunk and pass out or something? I guess I just don't know why anyone would want to sleep on the floor by the back door to look at a fourwheeler........

He wouldn't happen to be in the hospital suffering from burns, would he?

I would get a second or even third opinion on the insurance issue. I know for a fact that my homeowners insurance (State Farm) covers my ATV while it is parked here at the house. I checked with my agent just to be sure in case of theft. If it were to get stolen while off the property, I would be out of luck unless I carried a separate policy.

Thats true. If someone breaks into the house and steels your computer, TV, Stereo, furniture, tools, etc. Insurance would cover it since it is on your property. The stolen quad would fall under the same rule.

homeowners insurance will not pay for it if you dont have a farm or something then you can call it farm equipment. We have went throw this with two frinds.
