Prarie 650 oil filters

Yeah, Fram 6017A, at Advanced auto, or STP SMO-017 (5.99 I think) at autozone.
These were both in an area with other motorcycle stuff, but still near the atuo filters.
The Fram filter supposedly has cardboard ends on the filter cartridge, and bullet bike oil filter review claims engine damage is caused by this cardboard.
The STP filter is very good quality filter, per the bullet bike article I read.
I hope people that have not done their oil filter research don't post here about ruining your engine. There are probably many oil filter manufacturers that make a perfectly good filter for the kawi motor. I only know of the one filter, SMO-017.
My generator's filter is marketed (or made?) by napa and looks exactly like the right size and threads as the kawi filter. However, I did not do my homework yet on napa filters.
Autozone also has the appropriate synthetic oil for your Kawi. A guy on these forums called kawasaki on synthetic, and they said yes, use it IF IT MEETS THE SPEC LISTED IN THE MANUAL. Mobil recommends the V-twin synthetic formula which covers the spec. It is 20w50, but still pumps at -39 or so I think so you do not have the problems with viscous oil not flowing at low temperatures like dino oil does. Mobil MX4T also covers the Kawi spec, and since it is 10w40, it may be more appropriate for winter.
