400ex a-arms on 300ex
#1
I was wondering if anyone has any instructions on how to put 400ex a-arms on a 300ex. I was also wondering if anyone has this done and what they think of it. Any info and oictures of this would be greatly appreciated. I have also heard that there are bolt on kits for this,is this true.

The A-Arms will bolt right up but if you do it save your bushings from your old A-Arms. The 400's are longer and thicker and you'll have to grind them down to get the A-Arms to fit. I'll post pics when I get my engine in my quad tomorrow.

OregonMXracer, I had a 400ex, but i slowly built it into something i couldnt ride anymore. I put +3 a-arms, ofset rims, wider axel, shocks, the whole deal. Anyway, i built it up for a mxracer pretty much, and i just ride woods. So i want a 400ex with shocks, nerfs, and a 416 kit now. and that is all i will do to it....................................for a while

I did a forum search for this topic because I know that I have personally responded to at least 3 similar topics but only came up with one lead that wasn't helpful. Anyway, I have done this swap in the past on my old 330ex. The 400ex a-arms are a straight bolt on, you'll need the 400ex tie rods but the stock 300ex brake lines will fit. It get's a little tricky with the shock set-up. I used 400ex shocks but they are actually too long and a new upper shock mount needs to be fabricated. There are 2 options for this, #1 make or buy new upper shock mounts (atv racing has a kit, I do not know there website) , or #2 use a front lowering kit with the longer shocks. I used #2 but would do #1 if I did it all over again. 250R shocks will fit but also are too long and need this same style of mounts. The 300ex shocks will be too short and way too soft with the added leverage. I know there have been many people doing this swap so hopefully someone else will post more info. Good Luck.

i have tried this but it doesnt work with 400ex shocks because they are so long that it is like riding a small wheelie all of the time
