That's a new one to me.
I guess it does it in 2 or 4 wheel drive?
Does the driveshaft turn?
Any grinding sounds?
Is it all the way in gear?
Did you try to drive it with the belt cover off?

I would guess something in the tranny has broken. This is the first time I've ever heard of a broken tranny on an AC. I don't know you may want to wait for Boner to reply. He is pretty knowledgable with this sort of thing. I'll check my service manual too.

bermbanger400:
I had the same problem with my 2001 500 Auto. The mechanic said and I quote, "Bolts backed out of secondary shaft bearing housing. They were found lying in bottom of crankcase. Multiple damage to gears as a result." end quote.

Apparently this has happened before at my dealer and AC replaced the whole motor. BUT in my case the had a "kit" put together withall the needed parts. My kit arrived missing one part so by the time they had it repaired and returned to me it was well over a month. Hope you have better luck. The problem was NOT with my dealer but with AC sending the parts.

Let us know what the actual problem was for our future reference or if it was the same thing happening to another machine.

Thanx

If it is the bolts in the Tranny that backed out and caused his problem and he has a good dealer, the dealer may be able to AC to cover it. I think that this is a known problem and it is directly attributable back to Suzuki quality control. If the actual cause isd indeed the bolts mentioned in a previous post.

I would think so if this is a known problem like Minehunter says. It may take some swift talking though. Minehunter have you heard of this on the manuals as well as the auto?

I have only heard of twice before and always with the Auto. I would think that it would go towards the implied side of the warrenty. That being that AC's come with an unlimited miles warrenty during the six month time warrenty. With unlimited miles it IMPLIES that the transmission should last for some unknown amount of miles. I don't know if this will work , but you can try that angle to solve the problem.
