300ex help please

The rev-limiter on the 300EX is built into the CDI. You can get one from WhiteBros.,Curtis Sparks, etc. that has been modified and does not have the rev-limiter.
It's not dangerous to the bike unless you really get up into the revs past the red line. I'm sure you will know before it gets to that point.

I subscribe to Loren Duncans philosophy about rev limiters. Before you hit the rev limiter, your have already begun falling off the torque curve!! You may be making RPM, but YOU'RE NOT MAKING POWER ANYMORE, and the higher you go the worse it gets. Save your money and stick with the stock limiter.

if you have to get limiter-less cdi, make sure you pick up a tethered kill switch. its one thing to fall and hurt yourself, its another to fall and hurt yourself and also blow the motor up when the bars blip the throttle for ya.
