FMF Scrambler mods
#1
Has anyone used the FMF pipe & siencer combo on there bike yet ? How about a Ram valve? I am very interested in there stuff for my 400, There web page and the ads they run in dirt wheels says the pipe combo alone is worth 10hp & 10 mph on top end !! Is this so?

I have tried the FMF pipe on a stock '99 Scrambler 400 and it actually slowed it down. I also tried it on my built '97, that I had been running a HPD trail pipe on, an it slowed it down also. A friend of mine bought it and was able to get it to perform slightly better than stock on a '99 Sport with clutching changes. I now have a RCR topend pipe and feel that it works really well. I really think that Ritter is the best around. His customer service is alot better than some of the other companies like HPD.

Mike,
What type of ridding do you do? Do you recommend the top end pipe? Rick Ritters web page says it too much power for trail and woods ridding. Whats your impression? Thanks

99 Sport 400, about to get an RCR kit, (which one???)

I do alot of drag racing, but I also trail ride with it. I also have a race moded motor and run a 3500 rpm engagement, which some might feel is too much for trail riding, but I am a horsepower junkie and want my Scrambler to be as fast as possible. If you think that you may go with race mods later you might want the topend pipe, but if you only want to run pump gas a midrange pipe may be a better choice.
