after market suspension for scrambler
#1
I want to put long travel suspension on my 1996 scrambler, I like hot seats stuff, id like the long travel front struts and their spring kit, but Will they fit my model, but besides hot seat, what about other set ups, i want a set up that handles good, rides smooth, can take whoops and lots of rocks without shaking me to death, i want nice smooth suspension, that can do that, and occasionaly jump, but that isnt the main priority, or even a priority, any ideas?

kukerdan, as for as hot seat springs and struts go i am very happy with mine. It was major change in the way my scrambler performs, "night to day." modquad and mike chero where very helpful to me and know alot on this subject, i think they have used other suspension for their quads. I would talk to them for info. Good luck.

Hey guys, kinda chasing my tail right now, but maybe check the Hot Seat site for application. I'll have a full (freshened last month) set of Fox shock/struts w/ the Hot seat spring kit for sale in about a week. These are off a 99 sport, so once again check the application. The fronts have slight internal mods to aid in aggressive trail blasting. As long as you haven't removed a ton of wt from the machine, these will give you a noticeable improvement.

Hello all,
The Scramblers have always had the long travel front suspensions. The Sport didn't until 1999. The travel On the Scramblers got moved up from the 7.5" of travel to the current 8.2" of travel around the same time they went to concentric drive (1998). No biggie, it's just .7" longer. The long travel struts from either Works Performance or Fox should work just fine. Bear in mind that the Fox setup calls for the Hot Seat springs to get any plushness out of them. With the stock springs it's way too stiff, unless you're hitting jumps and getting "sick" air. The Works set up seems to work with the stock springs, but as in my case, they work with the HSP springs too, especially if you're looking for ride plushness for the first few inches.
Hope this helps!

Hey Modquad,
I have a 99 Sport and am looking for a better suspenion set up. I'm 6'6 and about 280, I have lightened the machine some, butonlya bout 30-40 pounds. Considering my size, that shouldn't be a problem. What type of improvement did you get and how much are you asking.
