Hot Jet or Jet Hot ?
#1
I have read a few posts of people saying that they were really pleased with their pipe so they were going to get it either Jet Hot or Hot Jet coated. Is that the same as ceramic coated? I know a guy who had his done and it looks a lot like a nickle plated pipe. He said that is was coated inside and out. It looked really trick. I was just wondering if this was the same thing and if not which one is better. Thanks

It's all ceramic coatings. Swaintech is another source, they do nice jobs on pistons also. Most of these pipes like heat, and can produce differences of up to a couple of hp when heated up. The ceramic aids in this heat retention. How's that six pack rack fit? Been meaning to get one.

The six pack is a perfect fit. I had been looking for one that was aluminum and looked like all the other racks out there. I got it from PRM-ATV.COM they have a picture of one on a Scrambler. They look really great. Thanks for the reply. There's a company where I live that does ceramic coating.

I have a HPD trail pipe that was Jet-Hot coated. The paint had started to burn off and I had some small freckles of rust beginning. I won't have that problem now !!!!
The pipe will retain more heat which will shift the tuning of the expansion chamber higher in the RPM range, and there may be some jetting adjustments that need to be made. I want to say I paid $ 79.00 plus tax to get mine coated last year.

How does the coating seem to work as far as heat on your leg? Does it still get very hot on the outside or does the heat stay in the exhaust gasses? Also does it change the sound of the pipe from a tinny ping ping ping to something closer to the stock pipe?
