The counterbalance question: (sorry to be redundant)

Let me apologize up front as I know I've read something in here before about this subject, but I cannot find it and cannot remember so please gimme a hand. Swapping a motor from a cycle into a quad is what I'm talking about. Give me the low down, are all 2-wheel cycle motors NOT counterbalanced and therefore will vibrate too much in a quad? Is it only in older models perhaps before they started putting counterbalancing in (if that's what they did)?

Second question would be if there is vibration in the quad frame, why? Seems to me the wider, heavier frame would be more conducive to dampening the vibration.

Thanks for any replies or suggested sources of info.
