Well, after much debate and many hours posting and my head just about exploding , I finally made up my mind and ordered some parts.

I bet knutz is releived to have me off his back .

So, I told you guys I would let you know. I decided that I would order the piston, cams, valve springs, and carb for now.

I ordered the 11.2:1 piston, sport cams, valve springs and the 45mm carb with thumb throttle cable. And all gaskets and stuff.

I should be able to get most of it in this weekend. I look forward to how it runs after these mods.

Then, about november I am going to get a 760

I figure if I save a few hundred a month, I will have the money to get the 760. That way I can ride all summer and enjoy my bike and then when it gets too cold to ride here, I can send my engine in to knutz and have him give it the pami760 treatment. I think it is a good plan and the down time will happen when I cant really ride anyway.

So, I will let you all know how it goes and my thoughts after the upgrades.

Bat:

I knew you were going to get the 760. That will be sweet man. Good for you. cool;

You suprised me that you are going to get some stuff to get you through the summer. Keep us updated on how the mods work for you. Sounds like a good alternative. Let us know how long it takes you to put on and tune for these components. Updates please!

So, I guess NOs will come winter 2003/2004:

faster,

Well, I figure if these don't hold me over then I can do the nos sometime this summer .

I had to do something to hold me over and the only thing not reusable for the 760 is the piston. I can always sell it if it is in good shape, and if not oh well.

Also, that means that the upgrade price of the 760 is just over $4000. Makes it a little easier to push on the wife.

Anyway, I should be able to get it installed this weekend and if time allows I might get a ride. The carb might be a hold up, Knutz said a couple days, he did not have it in stock. And then valve shims. I don't think I have a local source for the shims. I might have to call Knutz after everything is setup and have him send me some.

Otherwise, I should have it done this weekend and could do some testing next week.

Thank God you finally made up your mind. Ya know I wouldn't blame Knutz if he charge you a couple a hundred extra just for the nuisance...(jk)

And to think it was less than a month ago you said, "I think I'll leave my engine stock". Man! I hope all your decisions aren't made this way (jk again) I look forward to your analysis of the mods. have fun with it.

Jsds, I find that I am that way with a lot of things, especially my toys.

Just about the time I think I am satisfied, HA, I have to get something else. You know how it is, never satisfied. I am like a woman with her shoes, never enough.

I think this will hold me over until next winter when I can get the 760.

jsds, if this does not satisfy me enough, then I could do the nos this summer. But after the 760, probably an extended swingarm to keep it topside up. But then maybe dual carbs, or whatever it is knutz has in the works and maybe the full race head and nos, and a turbo or supercharger and then who knows what. Tim Allen eat your heart out .

What was the final price? Did you get the stock bore piston or the 102? I think that you should be able to run with the 703 maybe faster once you get it together

I doubt it!
looks like I won't have to sell the Pig. Bat We will see how well you stack up on Mem. Day.
To all the Dumont regulars, I will let you guys know when I get my engine back from Knutz and make a quick day trip!
