I just bought my bomber two weeks ago and am thrilled with it. I want to start powering it up now. I figure that the best thing to start with is a pipe. I've read everyting on the forum and can't seem to get a clear understanding on which pipe is the best to get. I was told that the BIG GUN is the way to go, but it doesn't seem like many people agree. Is it worth paying double the price to get a full race system, or is a good slip on just as good? All I want to know is which pipe gives the most power gain. I will also buy a jet kit and CDI(any recomends).

Thanks for helping me out because I'm knew to the BOMBER, but damn proud to own one!!!!

Welcome Man!! glad to see a fellow Bomber out their. I don't think anyone has ever done a "pipe shootout" for a DS, And I really don't see the advantage of a FULL pipe package being worth the money over the Slip-on unless your going BIG bore. So I think you'll get good power gains from about anything out their(biggun,ct,hmf,yoshi,etc...). But let me worn you in advance, You WILL want more HP for you RIG after listening to these guys in this Forum for awhile. GOOD LUCK and let the MODS begin!!!

Biggerisbetter.

Dude, I've seen alot of people complain about different pipes. I don't believe that anyone that has the CT exhaust has had any problems. I know I haven't.

Thanks for your reply. I think that you are right when you say that they are all probably about the same. Now, does anyone know where the best prices are for pipes?

My friend has a woods racing stage on kit. It comes with a 45 crab, full exhaust, filter, and it gives the ds a whooping 60% lowend increse, and a 30% top end!!!!!
It runs a little over $1000 though! He has never had any problems

I think I am going to go with a Yoshimura Slip. Next month I plan on buying a RWR CDI and an aftermarket CARB. Would the factory headers due justice to a high perf. carb, or should I go with a full pipe system to leave room to grow?

By the way, I'm looking for some riding buddies here in ARIZONA. E-mail me and we can meet up this weekend

Thanks again everyone for your input. I love this forum!!!!!

I have the full big gun, and I like it. I have one on my raptor also and have liked that one too.

Some have complained about the finish, but mine is holding up fine. Looks like new still. I also don't have any leaks, yet.

Bajapilot- BiggerISbetter can make you a end cap. It works as well as any exhaust out there. Run against many bomb pipes, big gun, ct, rwr, and bigger's, no clear cut winner. At that time (kermit dunes) i believe that his (BIGGERisBETTER) quad had the least mods.

BiggerISbeeter- send my commision check to...... lol

HEY BAJA HERES MY EXPRIENCE WITH THREE PIPE'S

RON WOODS EXELLENT POWER. TIRE HITTING PROBLEMS.BUT ONLY GOOD FOR SLIGHTLY MODED BIKES.WHEN YOU GET A LITTLE MORE POWER LIKE MINE IT BLOWS PACKING BIG TIME.

BIG GUN MODERATE POWER INCREASE EXELLENT SOUND SLIGHT RIVET PROBLEMS

GRAYDON EXELLENT POWER AWSOME SOUND AND SO FAR MINOR RIVET PROBLEMS

AND THATS MY EXPEREINCE WITH PIPE'S AND THE BOMBER I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY THE YOSHI BUT THEY DID NOT GET ON THE BALL FAST ENOUGH AND THE CT HAS DONE VERY GOOD ON OTHER MODELS.GOOD LUCK

SORRY GUY'S IM TURNING OFF MY CAPS RIGHT now!!!!

Batoutahell, surely you've raced (dragged) against your wifes quad. With similar mods i'm curious to know the outcome. TIA
