Be careful folks when you install the 426 with 13/1
Its powerful but with power comes risks. One of our race quads just destroyed the whole motor, case, cylinder, crank, starter. Im still in tears. I knew it would happen though. If anyone has a 400ex motor for sale let me know. hopefully my race ported head survived, I will do a autopsy and take pics today.

I know how you feel man. Built motors are friggin' time bombs without regular professional care (i.e.; you got the money to replace parts after a few rides before they go bad). My new policy is bolt-ons or nothing, intake and exhaust that's it.

Good policy.....I adopted this philosophy and have rode (instead of wrenching) ever since. Sorry about your bad luck Shockwave.

Built 400Exs no matter what you do are going to eventually be a problem. Trust me I know.
