Do a search under Gordon Banks, or look back like 60 days or so in the honda forum, That was covered along with the center head light bypass switch....(for when YOU got a bunch of stuff on your front rack..it won't blind you)
I haven't done it to mine yet but I think I will soon...
Hope this helps

DJ, here is the text from a 6/11/99 post written by Mark Sibbers. Hope this helps.
"I rewired my Foreman 450ES to start in any gear. Tap into the green w/ red tracer wire and connect that wire to a grounded switch."
Good luck!

I did this to mine and it wasn't too difficult. There is a starter solenoid beneath the seat next to the battery. I tapped into the green wire with the red tracer and ran that wire to a doorbell switch that I have on my upper left front fender. I drilled a hole in the plastic to install the doorbell switch. Then all I did was ground the switch.
The doorbell switch I bought at FleetFarm, it's a switch where I could screw on plastic switch cover to keep the mud and water out of the switch.
When you close the circuit on the switch your neutral light will come on even though you may be in gear. While holding in the doorbell button you can then start your machine. As soon as you get it started and let off the doorbell button your neutral light should come off.
After it's started I'd shift it down to first gear because the computer doesn't always recover what gear you started in.
good luck,
