Kodiak hard to get into park
#1
I bought a new 2000 Kodiak last fall, it was a hold over.As I live in the cold north country I havn't had a chance to ride it much and my warranty will be up this spring.I have no complaints with the machine so far except when shifting into park,a lot of times I have to rock the bike before it pops into park and the "P" light comes on.It makes a small clunk when it finally goes into park. Also some times when I shift into high gear it doesn't ingage right away, when I push the lever a little further I clunks real hard into gear.Is this fairly common or should I have my dealer look into it this spring?
This forum has been a great source of information......Thanks

I've seen this numerous times on alot of automatic quads, including the Kodiak. You just need to have your linkage adjusted. Your dealer can do it in just a few minutes or you can do it yourself. It's pretty easy to do.
You have an adjustment on the shift rod that is activated by the shift selector and most quads [not sure about the Kodiak]you also have an adjustment on the "lock-out" cable that goes from the brake pedal to the shift selector.
