raptor, biggun full exhaust, dynojet kit 148 150 mains clip on 4th notch of needles, cut airbox lid in half, ran awesome in the winter, now that its warming up performance is going down so i know im lean, where do i order larger dynojet mains ?

 

Unless I'm mistaken you'll have to jet down for the warmer weather. At least I know with snowmobiles you have to jet up for cloder weather, or you'll hole a piston. I'll check my jet chart tomorrow to be sure, though I'm pretty sure already.

 

i thought that in the winter u run richer than u would in the summer ?
spark plug reads lean, it always has, im 300 feet above sea level, what would everyone recomend jet wise ?

 

Just went through all this myself. Lookin for large Dynojets that is. I went to Dynojet's web page and put my state in here http://www.dynojet.com/latv.shtml
found a shop by me and called them to make sure they had what I needed.

I found a place 35 mins from my house with 175, 180, and 185's in stock for 3 bucks each. YES THEY ARE DYNOJET JETS

My question is what does the Dynojet kit do other than change the jets? In other words for my application could I have kept my stock needles and then just installed the Mikini jets and gotten the same results as using the Dynojet needles and then hunting for these larger DJ jets?

 

By the way you could order them right from Dynojet but I am too impatient to wait for the overnight delivery guy...Don't they have same day delivery yet?

 

No, you'll run leaner in colder weather, I guess because the air is denser when it's cold.
Four-strokes aren't as sensitive to jetting as a two stroke is, so your jetting might be spot on for the warmer weather right now, though if you've noticed a difference in performance you might actually have to go smaller.

But then again, you're the only one who can check your plug, so you would know better than anyone what's happening.

I'm kind of dissappointed with Dynojet because of the price of the kit, and what you recieve.

If you order a kit for a Rubicon you recieve 8 jets, but if you arder a kit for a Wolverine you get 3, for the same price. THat hardly seems fair, and doesn't leave many options for tuning teh Wolverine.

 

The machine will run richer in warmer weather. Cold air is more dense than warm air, requiring more fuel.

You'll definitely need to lean the mains. You haven't mentioned whether you have a K&N or Pro Design air filter. I can't see the need to go over 146-148 for No head/high comp piston or big cam. Your setup should crank along with 2.5 turns on the screws, 22.5 pilots(standard,) needles 3rd clip from the top and 144-146 mains. 660's run awesome leaner on the top. If its a little slugish off the mark try a 25 pilot.
On the Dynojet vs Mikuni main jets. One size quotes the fuel flow cc's while the other is the diameter in mm's. Can't remerber off hand which why round it is.

 

so is it leaner or richer in the summer ? i live in NE TX so the weather here can be 30degrees one day and 75 the next, on cold days it will run awesome and on warm days it just doesn't seem like it has the power, i still have the stock filter with half an airbox lid
