I was wondering if when you take your quad to the dunes you notice a significant power loss. do the wheels spin in the sand alot, or is traction pretty good with paddles?

its no secret that sand robs you of power, but by no means will you feel like your on a 110 atc. the paddles help significantly, but the key is to find the sweet spot in the size and type of paddle tire that whill give you enough spin but not too much

yea...sand does steal alot of your power...any hill that you can climb on hard pack..dont count on being able to climb that same size hill in the sand...it is a good idea to get paddles if they're not out of your price range, and if you cant get paddles just lower the tire pressure and you will get some more traction, but STILL will not have as much traction as paddles will give you

Oh yeah, sand takes a HUGE amout of power.
You know how hard it is to walk up a dirt hill?
Then try to walk up a sand hill!
Now try being 375 lbs, putting a 200lb fool on your back and still climbing up a sand hill thats nearly straight up!

Those poor quads really have to produce a lot of power and wheel speed in order to get around out there in the dunes!
