yea well last year i bought T-5s/jetkit/pro-flow with foam filter and i had heck trying to get this thing jetting right, from what everyone tells me its not right and i dont think its right at all either cause i went from stock 210 mains to 380s.wtf? i dont know. i first tryed like 290s and went from there. i thought something was wrong with it so i took it to the dealer. they jetted it with 380s and told me nothing was wrong? i sprayed WD-40 around the whole engine and there was no airleaks anywear. both plugs are the same.
What do u guys think? i just ordered Dyna Ign, V-force reed valves so im going to have to rejet again. help me out! ack!

What is the bike doing that makes you suspect something is wrong?? maby drop the needle down one notch lean out the bottom a bit, I think 380 is rich, what jets did toomey give you with the kit?? maby e-mail toomey if you cant give more of a description and ask about jetting.

How is it running? (if its running like a champ pulling harder then ever with no bogging throughout the powerband then it could be lean) (if its bogging or sputtering too much it could be rich) Have you done a plug chop? Thats the best way to tell.

380's seem way too rich, but it depends on your elevation and temperature. Try going to 30's on the pilots.

I'm at 5000 ft. elevation and i put duncan pipes and a k&n on it a couple years ago and the dealership put 290 mains... I recently did a new top end. and milled the head .30 and put new reeds in too. I had trouble finding the right jetting and i finally ended up with 310 mains. and i changed the pilots to a size smaller. Because it would load up at idle. and when i woudl go to full throttle it woudl take a wihle to clear out. i also leaned out the needle to make it right. When i went to glamis i wnet to 390 main jets. so elevation will effect it all to. good luck.

380s??? Hmm... Sounds a little on the large size. Your first set of 290s was probably pretty darn close. Find a new dealer for starters, 380 is ridiculous. I cant's see you needing bigger than 310s at most.

The ignition and reeds will have a smaller affect on your jetting than the pipes.

Tell us what is wrong and we can help... Need more details.

ok i ran some 300ft drags with it over the summer last year and i ran a 5.5 for my best run. so at full throttle it ran good, but other then that it was crappy. i was thinking 400 mains was the biggest u could go with the stock carbs ? i shouldnt be up that high wtf? all i had was pipes,pro-flow foam filter,no airbox lid.! So what should i try ? changing pilot jets? thats for idle so? I did the plug chops on it first from the 290s to 350s and the plugs were still white no color. so i took it in to the dealer thinking something was wrong with it. they jetted it with 380s and told me nothing was wrong they had the needles set on the 4th clip stock pilots 380 mains i forget what the air screw was at but im thinking 2 turns. So i need to get this thing running good cause im going to the Badlands soon. Its all stock right now and seems as though the jetting is fine, with the stock 210s in it so i cant see a airleak being the problem behind this? HELP ME AHHHH!

Well, first of all, I'm not a big fan of plug chops. I don't think that 10 or even 30 seconds at WOT is enough to get a good color. If it was so lean you would be running hot and having rideability problems. The power would go "flat" on top, too. If it's rich you may not even know it. Last year a friend had 310 jets in at over 7000 to 8500 feet and didn't realize it but couldn't figure out why he was losing races so much. Normal jetting for there is 240 to 260 with pipes and K&N.

If it were me, I'd put in 300 or 310s max and run it and see what happens. If it's TRULY lean you'll know it soon enough. Ride a while, if no overheating pull the plugs after a while of hard riding and see what color they are.

SO it will overheat before it seizes for sure? so i guess ill try 330s in it and the needle on the 3rd, stock pilots and 1 1/2 turn on airscrew see what that does i guess, i dont know if ill have time to ride it tonight but its pretty damn cold out there i know that.
