just tore down my 400ex. going to bore .040 over and use a xr400 cam.has any one tried this cam?also going up 1 size on pilot jet and 2 on the main jet.with k&n filter,iuse a supertrapp ids with 7 discs and stock headpipe.<its almost too loud but ok>.thinking about porting the head but some off the shops seem a little high on price .can i use a dremel tool and clean up the exhaust runners,would this help with the mods i`m talking about or i am i pissing in the wind with the stock pipe?also with the above mentioned mods would a rev box be worth the money?i know speed costs money but i need to the the best bang for my cash. any advice or horror stories is much apperciated.

 

My friend Aaron got the IMS 440 kit for his 99 400ex, ported the head, xr400 cam, up one on pilot, i think he has a 175 main jet, powder coated frame, Uni filter, Big Gun exhaust. I have a relatively modified 2000 400ex and he pulls away from me. He didn't get the rev box because he thought he might damage the quad.
