I am looking to get a slip-on right now and get the headpipe later on to make it a full system! Which slip-ons work the best?? I am planning on doing mostly mx, hills, and trails. NO dunes or extremely wide open fast areas. I probably want more of a low end pipe right? I have been looking at Pro Circuit, white brothers, fmf, and others. I want one that has the quiet core avalable as well... What would you guys recommend?? Like I said though, just a slip-on for now. I am going to get a dyno jet kit and Pro Flow, but wait on the head pipe!

I have a friend with an 01 raptor with the t-4 exhaust and It dosen't impress me at all!! Its extremely loud and didn't help his low end at all.(I don't know anything about the white bros exhaust) If a guy wasn't worried about noise I'd go with the CT Sonic. But if you want a quiet exhaust with great preformance I would go with the quiet series big gun exhaust. (just my opinion)

Stay with the stock pipe, spend the money on jet kit and pro design K&N filter kit. You'll probably get everything you want by just doing that. If you want a little more you can always get the pipe afterwords. Its the quietest you'll ever get.

True...very true, but if i jet it like that and get the pipe later, how off will that jetting be? I mean, its no problem to jet again, just more of a pain, maybe i wouldn't even have too. What about just taking out the baffle in the stock pipe, does it help any? how does it sound like that?

Very loud. Use the jetting specs with your dyno kit or K&N for the stock pipe with an air box mod and you should be ok. They come with explanations for this type setup. You can read up on what to do for your setup HERE.

LOL, you post questions I have intrests in. From experiences (some I have done and some Ive learned the hard way) do 1 mod at a time. This will give you the knowledge of what each mod gains or does not gain for you. Eventualy you will gain what you want and maybe save you some $$$ in the process. Happy rideing.

I just bought the Pro Flow Kit on ebay! I have a guy who is getting me a deal on the jet kit already and i will take your advice and instal them and see if I get what I want out of it! IT would be nice not to have to spend 500 on a pipe yet! Well thanks again man, you have been a big help. Later

We are very happy with our HMF quiet Core with spark arrestor on the raptor. It is louder than stock, but not a lot. Power gains are across the board. I'm sure there are more powerful pipes out there, but if you need to keep it down, this will work very well and still give you a big boost with a good sound, great fit and finish.
... I got one for my DS too, but it didn't work as well. It was louder, but felt restrictive, like the stock exhaust. I put a home made quiet core in it which opened it up, but made it louder too.
... If I were to guess I would say the Raptor HMF quiet core is about 94 db, stock is about 92 db. My DS is about 96 db. I have also had a regular HMF slip-on which was Way too loud, about 100 db, a FMF 4-square Q, which wasn't too bad, maybe 98 db. and an assortment of modified end caps.
