02 models, Wolverine vs Bigbear 4x4 DRAG

Which do you think would win, or which would win? Which would win aceleration wise and top speed? Im sure the wolvy gets top speed, but with the 50cc more and lower gearing does the bigbear have better aceleration? Its just that im buying either one of those, top speed or 55-60mph is nice, but without aceleration to get there itll suck.

The Wolverine will win, hands down.
The lower gearing won't help at all. Remember that after 1/2 a second you're going to be shifting anyway. Even with the Wolverine's higher gearing, I normally start off in 2nd, and if I'm racing I'll rev it up and drop the clutch (shift lever).
The Big Bear has an extra 50cc, but it doesn't like to rev, and so doesn't have the horses of the Wolverine.

no more replys? Its really important, which will win in aceleration and top speed? Im sure the wolvy hands down is top speed, but with the high gearing, 50ccs short of the bigbear, will it fall behind off the start because of higher gearing, or will the 490lbs dry vs. 560lbs dry matter? What about trails, how will it do against a bigbear 4x4 in the forest, trails. I think the wolvy beats the bbear 4x4 in a drag, even tho the higher gearing is, the less weight will put it in front.

Thunderpower- actually the 2 bikes will be pretty close as far as top speed in concerned-
Wolverine- 54-58
Big Bear- 51-55
however in a drag race, where top speed is almost never reached, the Wolverine will run away and leave the Big Bear without question.
When my ride was stock I could put 6-10 bike lengths on a Big Bear in a 150 yard drag.
The Lower gearing in the Big Bear actually limits its acceleration as it needs more upshifting to keep in the powerband. A stock Wolverine has no problem accelerating through it's slightly taller gears.
However this is stock- If you put 26 in tires on both machines- the results may vary.

I ride a wolf and hubby rides a bear. Wolf is a 2001 and bear is a 2002, but I can go anywhere he can on the trails. There are some places that my wolf will go that the bear won't, it crawls the rocks and trees far better. But my wolf will smoke his butt and still have a gear left hehehe.
The wolf is alot more fun also, it handles the ruts and obsticles alot smoother. It's like driving a BMW compared to a 1 ton truck!! I do alot of mud slinging and it doesn't seem to bother that it's 4x4 it still cuts some awsome cookies. (personal best is 12 in row with front tire planted)
Mine is customed alittle it has a super trap, re-jetted, bigger tires, and k&n filter. If your not used to it your arms feel like they are 20 ft long after riding it cuz it's pretty snorty.
I went with the wolf cuz the bear was just to big and I didn't feel comfortable on it. But if your going to work it the bear is better, we plow and haul round hay bales with ours, have ever pulled the truck out of snow with it. so if its just for fun go with the wolf!!!!!!!
Thanks for reading this! and let me know what u decide to get.

LOL....Quadfather, If you get a chance, check out my post with a project that I am contemplating at building. I would appreciate your input.
Thunderpower, the Wolverine will whip up on the BigBear from start till finish regardless of the length of running room. Buy the Wolverine already.

I couldn't agree with you more KNOWSALOT. The Wolvy will stomp the Big Bear hands down and eyes closed. Whoever it was that said the top speed was the same better recheck that the Wolvies top out is at least 10mph faster its like 45mph for the Bear and 55mph for the Wolvy. If speed and sportiness is what you are looking for get the Wolvy. If low down grunt and utility use is what you are after get the Bear. On the other hand if you want both get either the Kodiak or the Grizz.
