it is paint, because yamaha charges an extra $300 for the paint that only costs them $5.

Actually I've not had any problems with the paint chipping or flaking on my grizz. I've put some scratches in it, and a real nice gouge, but for a paint job, it's holding up extremely well, IMO.

be careful with the silver ones though. they arent as fast as the green ones, but they handle better couse of all the extra bearings in the muffler!!! lmao. now, if you want a nice one, buy the red, couse its the reddest of all the red ones, heehee. dont buy the beige ones!!! they are made on mondays and fridays, and we all know what that means, lmao!!! the camo oes are real nice, but everyone keeps loosing them!!! beware, you have been forwarned, heehee!

I found a silver Grizz 660 that I almost bought. Problem. When they ship in the crate the tire was off and setting inside on the floorboard. On the right side it wore the paint right off the right fender where it rubbed. The dealer indicated they were going to fix it, but it was up to Yamaha how to fix. I passed and bought the red one. I have custom painted atv plastic in the past. It can look very good, but does require care and constant touching up. There are binding agents that you can spray on and add to the paint, but it still will flex and crack in time. We also found that stickers and graphics were a problem and took the paint right off.

I agree with mitch. The green ones are the fastest, but there nowhere near as red as the red ones.
P.S. dont buy the beige ones.
