Well I am in the process of buying a cannondale, anyway the dealer told me he would switch out the shocks on the cannibal(arvins?) with a set of Blaze shocks. Now this cannibal like this would cost me about $400 less than a new speed. Do you think this is worth it. I called Joey at Ohlins USA and he said if he upgraded the speed shocks they would be dual rate with rezzys, but no rebound, compression adjustable. How big of a deal is this. Which route would you guys go. Also are the rear shocks on all the quads the same from cannibal, speed, blaze. Thanks guys -josh

So:

Speed = $8300 OTD
Cannibal w/ Blaze shocks = $7900 OTD

ah which one?????

make sure the cannibal is a "new" one. i would rather have axis,peps, or elkas but if you want the ohlins go for it.

Well, I'd go with the Speed. I have read that some Cannibal's without Hydro Clutches can't have them put on because the case halves or covers or something are different, and non interchangeable. I like the Silver/Yellow color scheme better, also. One thing though, aren't the upgraded Ohlins ZPS style, and the Blazes aren't?????? I don't know, sorry I couldn't really help.

I think you also have to consider any upgrades you might do down the road in the way of suspension mods. For instance, do you think you will eventually put on +2 or +3 a-arms sometime? If so, I would try and get a good price on the Cannibal with the Arvin shocks, then when you upgrade to aftermarket a-arms, you'll want to put better shocks on anyway like PEP ZPS's.

So what is the price the dealer is asking for the Cannibal in it's stock form?

Well the cannibal has the magura clutch already and is new, and I REALLY like the speed color scheme better too (something about yellow and red together, reminds me of a hotdog)haha. BTW how much does the cannondale plastic cost, heard it was very reasonable, like $150 for a set. I am still at a loss.

I would go speed, I saw one sitting in front of my dealer yesterday and it looks sweet. I am going to stop by and check it out today if it is not sold.
