Text2002 Raptor
I just put a Yoshi Stainless full exhaust on my Raptor. The exhaust is glowing red and there is some popping when I deaccelerate. Usually about 2 - 3 pops not a backfire. Wondering if anyone else has had these type of probs and what they did to fix it.

Besides that the Yoshi kicks butt.

anytime i've seen glowing pipes it's been a sign of being lean. did you rejet after installing the yoshi? go with 150/155 and see if there's a diff. unless you've done some air box mods then maybe more. yoshi usually calls for 2-1 3/4" holes in the air box. good luck.

 

Turn the fuel air mixture screws out 1/4 of a turn at a time until the popping goes away. If your pipes only glow when at idle or low RPMs this will cure that as well. If you reach 4 turns out and still have this problem increase your pilot jet size. Turn your screws in all the way counting each turn as you go. Then back it out 1/4 turn past where it was etc.

 

We are rejetting this weekend with the 150/155, and have the K&N filter on order, and will be making the airbox mods. So will try the other things you suggested and see what happens. Oh, and the plug is fine. We figured it was running lean, but the popping noise is what was getting us, there is no hesitation with it and it does sreeeeaaaammm.
