I was just wondering wich of these following pipes would be the best for trail riding and over all power increase for the 300ex.. The dmc dual barrel pipe and header ( same as duncan dual barrel), the white brothers e series pipe, or a supertapp? Its very important for me to find this out so if you know about any of this and you view it would you please respond. Thanks, Brandon

 

There is alot of past posts on this subject.So you might want to search there first.I just ordered one myself for my 98 300ex.I got the FMF megamax2 with the header pipe.Got it from rocky mountain atv for $199.00,it's suppose to be a pretty good exhaust too.I'll be able to tell you more when I put it on.

Whatever muffler you decide to get make sure you get one with a bigger header pipe. I think the performance gain from all of them are very close. If noise is not an issue some of the megaphone type pipes may give you a little bit more power, but you sacrifice the ability to ride in areas where db levels are monitored. It's a tough choice to make. I picked up a DG RCM for $50, it was practically brand new. I'm looking for a new pipe as well. The performance is awesome, but the noise is awesome as well. There are lots to pick from, good luck.

 

I read about a dyno test done by Dirt Wheels about three to four years ago where they bolted on anyone's exhaust who wanted to participate. The winner was the Supertrapp exhaust. It beat out everything out there and then some.
Maybe if enough people urge them on, one of the mags will re-do the testing with some of the newer pipes on the market.
