Well I have waited about 6 months to ride my R. Today was the glorious day that I would reassemble the engine. Got all the parts out, cleaned up were the old gaskets were. Fudged around with the rings for 20 minutes. After i got that figured out I lubed up the parts and slid the piston into the jug. All was good...slid the wrist pin in no problem. Next came the circlips, my dad had one in his hand and when i reached for it plunk right into the case!!!!! ^#(@(#!! ($(@**! $((@)*$#!! $)(*@)(*)!&#(@()*#!!!!!!!!after a nice swearing seccesion I tried a magnet with no luck. Then i saw it and got it out with neadle nose pliers. So I went to put it in and all was good. then boing! the little SOB flew across the room and now it's gone. What a wonderful day!

anyone know where I can find a circlip ?

 

I'm sorry, better luck next time I guess. Call your dealer and see if they have one.

I would be combing that room because its still there. If you were lucky enough to see the point of trajectory, I would start in that direction. The dealership is probably closed by now.
Just think of it as having to clean the room and you get to stop when the circlip is found.

The problem is the room is a big garage filled with motors transmissions parts and lots of heavy theings that cannot be moved.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
it hit the door then went ........well i dont know or i would have put it in.

Are you shure there are no local shops around that would have one, or get one "next day" delivered from one of the shops in one of the quad magazines?

 

I am gonna see if the local shop has one, if not I'm screwd.

 

take a cicclip out of another engine briggs&stratton ect.. why not??

If your Honda dealer doesn't have one, check with some other local brand dealers. Here's are the models that have the same circlip.

Kawasaki Mojave
ALL Polaris models except the 500s
ALL Suzuki QuadRacers
Yamaha Tri-Z 250

Surely someone has one. I'm kind of surprised that your dealer didn't have it. Those things get just as lost in the dealerships as they do in customers garages. We keep a large inventory of them in every size for every model known to man. If you want me to send you one, PM me by Monday night. I will send ya one Tuesday.
