How much faster ----sprocket?
#2
I had a mild 416ex and a 16 tooth front sprocket hurt my acceleration and it would'nt surprise me if no extra top speed was attained. I think only a highly modded 400ex will benefit from a 16 tooth front front sprocket. If you still wanna try it, it's a cheap mod and you may like the gearing better if you ride in wide open places. I purchased a PBI "Pro Series" and the fit was excellent....about $25 bucks at my local shop.

Living in Wisconsin, I am betting you are primarily a trail rider??? You'll get some increase in top speed, but on the other hand you will lose low end acceleration. Not at all the hot setup for trail riding!! But, it is a cheap mod (if you can use your existing chain) so give it a try.

I put a 16T on my 440 IMS full kit. If you want to buy any of my old 15T they are for sale now. I gained more on the top end and lost nothing on the bottom. I can still set at the bottom of a hill and climb it with no problem. Before I was running out of gear, wishing for a 6th gear. I still wish I had a 6th gear, but it is better. You will have to shift less in the woods and on the trail. Also, check out this mph finder:
