cr 250 ignition for 250r
#2
I have heard (from a reputable source) that the cr ignition works good cause it is "digital" ...not analog ..like oem cdi ..
This is supposed to improve performance ..(makes sense) ..
less ignition "noise" & more precise producing cleaner/crisper spark,etc,..& should be ran w/a "r" plug like as in "BR8ES".
I have not done it or rode one w/it.So can not say "from experience"..let us know if ya do & how it worked .

I have one on my R. You notice the light flywheel most. It revs much faster and stays in the powerband much easier. Before, to keep it from falling out of the powerband, it had to be geared too low. Mine is highly modified for low/mid range but it worked well for my stock motor as well. Of course you loose the ability to use lights.

I'm using one, at the same time though I did a bunch of other upgrades such as putting on an ESR310 kit, ESR pipe and silencer, etc. Performance is awesome and now I don't have to worry about those intermittent electrical problems the R seems to always have!
