I am having a heck of a time removing my 300ex's brake pedal. I have removed the cotter pin and joint (not sure if this is the part name - looks like a T) pin from the master cylinder. The manual says to remove the snap ring and washer next. Well I don't see either. I see a dust seal and a hex bolt (looks to be attached to the swingarm pivit bolt) and a return spring. I can't seem to get the hex bolt to budge and I don't want to put too much pressure on it and break it. Can anyone give me a hint here? Thanks!

I have ran into the very problem you are having. Honda put's loctite3 on the brake pivot bolt.[For obvious reasons]

You aren't going to be able to break it loose with a regular allen wrench without damaging the head and then you are really in a hurt. Take a allen head socket and use it with an air impact. It will come right off.

You haven't got the socket or the air impact, load your quad up and run down to your dealer. You can just pull around back and have him take it right off for no more than 5.00 [should be free].
Most auto repair joints will have this socket as well if you want to round one up.

Just do something before stripping off the head of that bolt.

So I am correct that I just need to loosen the hex bolt and not worry about a snap ring and dust seal, which I cannot see? Thanks for the great response!
