I am wanting to add some lights right in front of my handle bars, on my Recon to help with turning visibility at night. Has anyone ever fabricated some mounts for such an application? I know at one time you could get a kit from highlifter, but now they don't carry it. Anyways, suggestions, or pics if you have them, would be appreciated.

Buy some of those KC headlights, make yourself a mount out of a piece of steel, all you'd need for that is a vice and some vice grips, and a drill. Put some primer on there and some paint...get yourself an auxilary switch and put it on the bars or something for easy access.

PS heat up the metal with a torch so it bends much easier.

I bought a pair of car/truck "bumper" mount lights from PepBoys. I mounted one right on the plastic in the center of the handlebars.. There is a cover that pops out and underneath was a bolt that worked paerfectly for mounting. No modification needed. When I turn my handlebars the light turns........I mounted the other light in the back for kicks. It comes in handy for all kinds off things. I bought an extra switch(kit came with one)so the rear and the front are independant. I cut a small hole in the side of the plastic below the light to mount the switches. The whole thing looks like it was stock. Lots of compliments on the arangement. The cost was around $70.00 total.
Good luck

I purchased a Warn bumper for $129.00 which included dual front head lights and a backup light. It was not only a very nice addition to my ATV but it also added an additional way of mounting more lights for more visability. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have a recon but the warn bumper isnt for it because the bumper is too big for the bike.Your best bet is to get the trail lights from warn.the have mounting holes so you can mount them anywhere.I have them on my rack(looks better that way).go for the warn.

I think the warn bumper might be a little bit to big for my recon. As far as the Warn/Trailtech Lights go, any problems with the Recon as far as putting out enough juice to run them?

I have know idea because your bike is probably the american model "recon" but the canadians have the "FOURTRAX TRX250" but mine does it all right. The battery life might have a less life but you only use the lights in the night.Yeah i think they should work on yours.
