Cleaning your 400ex?!?!
#1
Well i did it! I buried it what appeared to be small puddle, but turned into a mud pit about a foot deep. My buddy was on a '00 Trailblazer so we had to use everything we could to get it out. It took us about an hour but we did it. That thing started right up even in the mud, but i will say its the first brown honda i've ever seen.
Can avyone give some advise on getting all that mud off even the engine? Is there anything i should not get wet. I checked the manual and all it said was no high pressure. Any advice would be very useful to me
Thanks

I use a pressure washer to clean my 400 ex, you just have to be very careful about pealing off stickers or forcing water into the engine, but as long as you don't hold in one place it should be alright. Takes me about 20 minutes to clean my ride when it is completely caked with mud, I don't use any soap either, just the water does a great job, looks brand new every time.

A good hose down is the best advice I can give to you. Squirt it down and wipe it off with a towel. Be sure to lube your chain after mud or water riding. As for a dirty engine, use an old toothbrush to get between the cooling fins.
I have some scratches and scuffed-up plastic. Is there anything out there than can fix it? The gas tank shrouds, right above the foot pegs (where boots rub) is the worst spot. Any advice there? Is ther nything that will give it more shine, make it look newer?

You have to be really careful when washing your machine with a pressure washer. I've heard a lot of people that say not to use them because they can easily get into the bearings and trash the seals. I always use a garden hose. Squirt it down, warm water and soap it, then rinse, just like a car wash. It might take longer, but it gets every spec of dirt on the plastic, on the rims, and everywhere that's visible from the outside. You will have to clean the engine fins and stuff by hand, cause the chances of just water taking it off aren't very good, since the engine usually bakes it on. Also, Mike, try PC Racing's Plastic Renew.
