hi i just bought a 85 atc250r and wanted to build a trx250r and wanted to know what parts will fit and what parts will not.

 

Don't do it. If you want a four wheeler sell the trike and get one. Don't hack apart another 3wheeler. The 3 to 4 wheel conversions are junk.

 

Yea, don't do it, especially with an 85. More parts are interchangable on an 86.

hey guys thanks for the info,I was wanting to take the parts off the 3 wheeler and buy a trx frame ,a-arms and so on,will the swing arm off the 85 fit and if not what is the difference,I'm new to this forum thing so be easy on me,I did read in one of the other ads on here that the 86 has more parts that will work but i don't know where to get a 86 and I already bought the 85 for $600.00,what all parts will work off the 85,thanks again for the input,if it is too much work I will just keep it a 3 wheeler,it can't be much more work than the 85 lt250 I bought last year I got it for $150.00 and totally rebuilt it,it runs good and looks good now

 

Let's see, Off the '85...You can use the whole rear end (Swingarm, axle, carrier, brakes, sproket) as long as you keep the ATC rear Brake. You can use the electronics, the entire engine/tranny, the intake manifold, the carb (no airbox/air intake though), the bars, the thumb throttle, the rear tires/wheels...I'm sure there is more...
