I have looked at some of the options for adapting other brands of front fenders to the Tecate. I think with some imagination you could do a clean conversion. I know in the old days of 3 wheelers we could buy fiberglass rear fenders that worked realy good and could be painted and repaired easily. I am not a fiberglass expert but believe that someone who is, could come up with a decent looking fiberglass replacement. and be a whole lot less than eBay bid prices. I think the market is here and the time is right.

If I' correct, the only fiberglass rear fenders were on the first generation Honda 250R?

well heres what you can do.as far as converting plastics your best bet would be the mojave plastic for the front end and trim the fenders back for a nicer look.and buy some new rear fenders for a 87-88 tecate 3 and adapt them.if you look at yokleys old kawi that he ran in the GNCC's thats exactly what they did.
mojave plastic is cheap and plentiful.,and you can get it in factory kawi green which looks very nice.
by the way hope that pvl works out for you.i'm not sure why you didn't ask me about plastic conversion when you had me on the phone?
remember if you have any questions what so ever about the tecate's i can help.just call me or e-mail me.
i'll bill you later!!!LOL

My thinking was that if you could make a fiberglass mold then the next step would be to create a carbin fiber body from the same mold. Now we all have something cool and sexy.

To remind us all about the old days. Back then you could get any popular rear fender made in fiberglass. Like the o' so cool ATC 90/110, 185 and eventually the 250r.
