Me and my riding buds have never been able to get a pair of front Holeshots to hold air. The sidewalls are just too stiff.

I like Razrs the best. I think the fronts corner better than the Holeshots, maybe because they are made of a softer compound.

The TurfTamers are way too thin for what I ride on. I have never even considered them for that reason.

I had Razrs on my last sport quad, I just put them on my new sport quad, and I just bought a second set of them for spares.

i have used turf tamer (rears) since 1987. i cant ever remeber getting a flat. that includes ridin many miles of railroad access roads on a LT500.i still use them today for mx, trails etc. i just dont use em in mud. razors would be better for all around ridin.

I recently got a set of the Raxr MX 18 inch rear tires. I previously ran un grooved turf tamers but the new Razrs are great. Slide when I want, grab when I want. Will not buy anything but the MX Razrs.

I've been trying to make the same decisions. I ride MX the whole time, so my thoughts were Razr, or another set of grooved turfs. The hot ticket(for around here) is Holeshot MX's on the front, and grooved Turfs on the back. I recently rode a Banshee with some Razr MX's. They hooked up so good, the Banshee was tractable!

Lonestar - That is the set up that I have, Holeshot 19 inch MX fronts and Razr 18 inch MX rears. I had one race in real muddy sand, and even with a crappy running motor (jetted too rich and taking on water) I was able to ride through parts that other people were stuck in. The other race was on a tacky dirt. I was able to pull to the inside and get traction to pull out of the turn. I did spin out once, but everyone was on that turn (rider error) and another time in practice the quad flipped over on me when it bit in a turn, but I think this was when I was getting used to the tires.

The Razr MXs are really soft lugs and a 2 ply rating. In another forum I spoke to a guy that works at Maxxis and he said that Gust thought they were a great tire for traction yet still wore very well.

Lasher, thanks for the info. The particular Banshee rider I spoke with that had them had been running them for 1 complete race season(March-Dec) and they still looked almost brand new. I was very impressed with the amount of traction they give. I've heard 4 stroke riders say they hook up a little too much, but I think that's just because they dont have the torque to get them spinning!
