Chain Guard On TB
#1
ok some of you may recall that my friend talked about my "clunking" chain. some of you said it was the chain guard and i said that it wasn't because i got a new chain and the problem went away. well i'm thinking now that my chain is looser that it is the chain guard. so i have a couple questions. if i do take off my chain guard, will it "disrupt" any other things? i'm thinking it won't but i just wanna make sure before i do anything. thanks for all your help.

I've taken the chain guard off both my TB's and installed
HPD's chain tensioners. My brother has had his off for over
2 years and not had any problems either.
A NOTE OF INTEREST!!!! in my Service manual, it says that the
eccentric locking bolts torque is 30 ft.lbs. and the caliper
bolts are 10-12 ft.lbs.
I was reading through my Owners Safety and Maintenance Manual
and it says the eccentric locking bolts torque is 60 ft.lbs.
So which is right?
I'm thinking its 60 ft.lbs. because I've been tighten mine to
30 ft.lbs all this time and it seemed like I had to adjust it alot.
Any body know for sure?
