Question about TRX 300 2WD
#1
Fellow Honda Owners,
I have a '92 TRX 300 that I bought used and would like feedback from other Honda owners. I know it has quite a few hours on it since I had to replace an axle being and overhaul the carb. Still, it starts easily and runs great.
I have noticed a very slight vibration that appears to come from the transmission or shaft drive near the middle of the powerband. In other words, it seems smooth and constant when starting and after getting up to cruising speed.
My thoughts are this is common for a quad with some hours on it but would still be earger to hear comments.
Thank you.
David

I have a trx 300 2x4 (1996) I had the similar vibration untill my rear differential went out. The rear diff. is a common problem on these quads. I bought one on ebay for 500.00, and thats about half the price of one from honda. If I had known what the problem was at the time, I could have just bought a rebuilt kit for the rear diff for around 80.00. By the time I knew what it was, the rear end had already disinigrated and was unrepairable so I had to buy a whole new one. I would have your diff checked out by a mechanic before it's too late. Hope I helped. Rich.
