TRAIL BLAZER OR TRAILBOSS?
#1
I have been shoping for a quad for a long time. But, I just can't decide what to buy. I like Trailblazer & the Trailboss. So, I thought I would post it & see if you all can help me make the right decision.
I live in North Carolina and I will be riding a lot in the woods. I also do all the things the warning stickers say not to do. I know I will ride double sometimes. I have also thought about EBS since I ride in the mountains.
I don't have much experince with auto quads. The only Polaris I have ridden for very long was a friends 250 Cyclone, which by the way screamed, and he sold after a while because he got tired of going up hills he couldn't come back down. And that's not because of lack of experince, we have both rode for years.
I haven't rode in a long time. But I want something to haul two on occasion, keep me up with a worrior when I'm by myself, and offer some EBS.
Which of these would be better for what I want to do and which would work best with EBS? Or should I save a lot longer for a Scrambler 400 2x4?

Hey Duster,
If you want to keep up with and beat a Warrior, go with the 400. I have a 99 400 sport, and I think it is great. My friend had a Trailblazer and he beat it up evertime we went out. The quad really impressed me. I just think that you will be looking for more to quick if you go with the Trailblazer. I don't know two much about the new Trailboss, but the old ones ran pretty good. I have heard that they go pretty good. I think you should get the 400....

Duster, if you are determined to spend the $2999 price of the 'Boss or 'Blazer, then take the 'Blazer. However, if you plan on riding double, you will definitely need the 400cc motor. We have a '98 Sport 400 and my wife and I can comfortably ride double and go practically anywhere. The 'Blazer has the same chassis, but is lacking a lot of power vs. the 400. I would recommend searching for a nice used 400. They are out there for $3200-3600. Or work on your dealer's best price for a new Scambler 400 2x4 (new name for the Sport). I know you can buy a new one for $4250.
Good luck

I'd go with the trailblazer.
With the RCR kit, i could take me and my girlfriend up hills that were pretty steep like she wasn't on there.
she weighs 120 and i weigh 198.
I had a friend that weighs 200 on the back and we still went up the hills pretty easily, it was bogging a little but nothing major.

I own a 2000 boss AND a 2000 blazer. Both are fine entry level type machines, and you would probably enjoy either.
For your goals, I'd buy the Scrambler 2x4.
And the dealer showed me polaris MSRP as 3199 for the blazer, yesterday.
Rich
shoot, how do I amend my signature to add the blazer!

You will find the Trail Blazer is more play. However, the Trail Boss is a lot of fun to. I have a 2000 Blazer and ride with three Trail Boss's. I would buy the Blazer all over again. If you want to use your ATV for Hunting and Fishing go with the Boss. Both ATV are great bikes.
