did you buy it from a dealer? How much did you pay? The last three numbers in the VIN ont he frame are the ones that tell you what number it is. Take off the front plastic, and I think the computer is right there, and it says either Sagem 500 or 1000(I think, might be wrong on the last part)

The new computer, EC1000 can be distinguished by a start button and a slide on/off switch. The older EC500 has 2 round buttons, one green for start, the other red for stop, or take off your plastic and look at the computer. I believe if it was a refurbished unit, the title should state that somehow.

The last three on the VIN is 039. Is this a bad or a good thing? I bought it off the net for $5200 plus a friend is having it shipped for $100. I thought it was a pretty good deal $5300 total with some extras on it. The dealership does not know anything about it since they don't sell them. This is the first time I've bought something sight unseen. I hope I'm not getting screwed. Here is a pic of it. Did I get screwed? http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/2/2/26742722.htm

Not bad, 039 makes it obviously one of the early Cannibals but you've got the Ohlin shocks and the graphics kit that R&S sells plus you got the best nerf bars, Graydon. You also have the HMF silencer which should mean it's probably had a new map downloaded but who knows which one. Can't tell which computer you have, it's an early VIN so you may have the EC500. Ask them if it has 2 round buttons, one green and one red or if it has a slider stop switch. It doesn't look like it's been abused either because the rims haven't been bent all to hell.

Yea, the nerf bars are tiny. I think I'll like them. I'll be racing Harescrambles and some times the have a tendancy to hang up. I just found out that is does have the EC 500 and no hydralic clutch. I guess that's a tradeoff for the shocks. Does any one know how much it would be for the clutch and cumputer? Or is it worth the money to even mess with?

RetroZ, don't bother about not having the hydraulic clutch, not that big of a deal, just something else to go wrong!! But, since your quad has the HMF silencer, you need to find out from the previous owner somehow if the computer was "remapped". If it hasn't, with that HMF silencer on it, you could do damage to your motor by it running in a too lean condition.
