I am looking for a four wheeler for my son. Which is 4 years old. I know there are several these days but I don't know much about the small 50 - 90's. Is there any info someone could give me to help out. I am looking towards a new bike but looking for a less exspensive one. Thanks

We bought the suzuki lta-50 for our 5 year old. My son likes the bike and it seems to be very reliable. I have heard good and bad about some of the other brands. We chose the suzuki hoping it will retain its value better than some of the other brands.

The best machine out there is the Honda 90, but it is probably to large for a 4 yr. old, and requires shifting. My second choice would be an LT-80. Now, this is probably going to be big for him too, but you can limit the power until he gets big enough to handle it. Just make him take it REAL EASY for a while. My son started on the LT at that age, and survived just fine. Plus, there should be a slew of cheap used machines available.

If you get a 50, you will be replacing it pretty quickly. One mistake I made a bunch of times, is underestimating how quick they grow up. I bought a motorhome that wasn't big enough, I bought a truck that wasn't big enough, and I bought a couple of quads that weren't big enough. On the other hand, use good judgement. You can replace a bike, but you can't replace the kid!!
