I better defend Suzuki's honour. My Z will beat any Bomb !! hahaha Just kidding, I don't think it would be much of a competition on drag races and long hill climbs. The bomb would beat the Z probably. But on the track, short hills and trails I think the Z would beat it. Its all about where you drive and what feels good to you. I looked at the Baja DS650 but it was very expensive compared to my Z, I don't regret what I bought though. Good luck on your decision, either way your going to have a blast.

bbertram....I totaly agree those Z400 looks like they would be killer on the track and trails!! The Z's look like super nimble machines.

They are very light. I'm used to pushing or lifting 600+ lbs machines in the mud. The Z is so light I can pick it up with one arm, I love it.

At Sand Mtn. NV over Memorial, there were several Z's there. On drags of any kind they flat out fell to the DS. I think thats a given. A 250cc difference is much more of a replacement disadvantage for the Z to make up. The Cannondales are fast on flats but they didn't show very strong on the long Mtn. Thats where the torque of the big bores shines. Remember that HP isn't everything. Just answering the question, not starting anything.
