I had my 2001 250 insured through my auto carrier (USAA) until their rates went from $180 a year to over $400. I have researched and researched and found this company called Merkel American. They are quoting me $138 for comprehensive and state minimums. Who and for how much are you guys insuring your ATV's with?

USAA. I'm at about 300 a year, but I'm well above any minimums in coverage. I have liability, collision, theft, and up to 300,000 dollars coverage for each person injured, including anyone I might have run over or whatever. It's not cheap, but I'd be glad to have it if I ever make a mess of myself or anyone else. I pay it all on 1 bill with my house, cars, boat, and anything else. They are an awesome company with the best service I've ever experienced.

What levels of coverage do you ge for the cheaper rates?

I have the Markel. It is about the cheapest insurance I could find. I have the same coverage as on my vehicles. It was only like 138 for the year. They also allow you to insure your accessaries. They also insure my trailer which hauls my quads.

In my opinion, all insurance costs too much. I think I'll start my own insurance company and become filthy rich.

Timewass,

Great Idea, but how are you gonna do it? I used to sell Boat insurance and let me tell you unless you have MILLIONS laying around in startup money, don't even try. I Assume you where joking.

I had both my insurance lisc. It's not as easy as you may believe to even set up insurance programs in different states. Insurance is one of the most regulated industrys in this country, due to the significant financial impact on peoples lifes.

You're right, I was joking. I sure wish I had millions just laying around to spend.
