Scrambler 400 trouble...HELP!!!
#1
I have a 96 scrambler 400 with a new wiseco piston and rings (bored .40 over)
cleaned the card twice...took it to the dealer he says theres nothing wrong with it.
New boyeson reeds
I had to spray gas into it to get it started the first time.
I started it and ran it for two weeks before a big riding weekend...no problems...started and ran great...took it to riding destination...ran great for about 5 miles...then quit running...tried to start it all weekend...would only run for a second or 2
dealer said somthing about the compression coming from the bottom of the motor and the crank seal might be bad.
any help would be greatly apreciated

Check the easy ones first. Was it a slow stop (tapers off), or an abrut kill (instant)? A slow taper of could be fuel delivery related. The abrubt, like someone flipped a switch would be electrical. Also, like your dealer suggested, the condition of the cylinder seal, and crankcase is also something to check out. Have you changed your fuel filter lately. Eliminate the simple things first, they're cheaper.
