i just got back from springhill race track for their mega-bucks race. there were banshees running high 3s and very low 4s in 300ft dirt drags with 90+ mph, no nitrous. may be a common sight for some of you, but for me i don't see that everyday. i loved it. some were very extreme set-ups. rail job type things. but a couple looked common. no extended swingarms or wheelie bars, etc. they were just screamin'. no offense to anyone, but no four strokes came near that.. with a four stroke; can you get there from here? i don't care much for riding 2 strokes, but i love to watch them run.

RRR, Yea those Ring-Dings can scream!! I bet there will be some thumpers in Aledo that can handle them thou. It's much easier to power up a 2 stroke & there is a ton of Shee parts to be had.

I've got a bunch of pics in My Album Of some custom drag quads that run at Atoka. The track record for them is 3.51 sec @ over 90 mph & that's on sand!! Look at pics 18 to 26 & 40 to 42.

I was impressed as well when I 'heard' that they went that fast, now I know it's true. I was talking to my friend one day in school, and he said he got his banshee up to 97mph. I was like, that's cool man, then laughed inside...but it's amazing how fast they can go.

A decade+ of trial and errow makes a big differents when it comes to motors.... if the raptor is even comes close now...hmmmmm...future looks preety damn good..but who knows that "Predator" may just take up rank on you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this place is 15 miles above holly springs ms. right below michigan city, ms. almost in tenn.
i think age of a motor is significant for a few reason. the longer you have a motor for trial and error the better. the raptor engine isn't new, but the aftermarket advances (trinity, sparks, etc...) is impressive over stock.
i think if i get more serious about this drag racing thing i'll go 2-stroke. but.... now this is the real kicker...around here in e.t. racing the most power is rarely the winner. it's always some guy on a 4-wheel drive-auto that runs the very same everytime that takes the money. i would never let these guys run with someone that actually spent time trying to make their quad faster. my point is, there is that room for error that a clutch and all that goes with it provides. just a separate class that's all.
the guy with the 4 sec bike was having some probs every now and then just holding straight. that was cool and exciting in itself and i think it holds some merit all it's own. took some b@lls. cause i thought he had lost it a couple times and he never let off. they drag every weekend. i don't know how it turned out this weekend. go to www.springhilltrack.com and the results will be there probably tomorrow or tue. heads up was today but i couldn't make it. i'll be up there racing in a couple weeks from now.

RRR, yea running all the quads together blows!!
At Atoka we have the quad classes broke down like this,
Pro 1~4.99 & faster,
Pro 2~5.00 to 5.75,
Pro 3~5.75 to 6.50,
Sporstman~6.50 & slower.
Having to give some one a 4 sec head start is nerve wracking. I'm glad we have enough quads to split up the classes.

727Banshee-Yeah, I failed to mention that my friends quad was all modded out, especially to get it up to 97mph!
