i want to get new tires and i have the money i just don't know what tires to get. I like the turf tamers but they say there for hard surfaces and sometimes the tracks are muddy so i don'y know, maybe some who has them could help me.

And then some people, and trenga racing say to get the mx holeshots so i'm confused, what would you guys recomend?

I also want fronts.

I run Maxxis Razrs and like them alot, they are a little tuffer then the mx holeshots. I ride in mud and they do pretty well. They seem to be made of harder material then the holeshot and I think would last alot longer for the same price. Don't know much about the turf tamers other then I hear they are really nice too. Good luck on what you decide.

 

I wood get either holeshots or razrs becuz turf tamers are more just for hardpack......and turf tamers arent good on the trail if its loose!

 

Also dont get mx tires if your gonna ride on trails because you wont have any ground clearance...

 

well, i am saving my razrs for trails , there are still good, but they are to big for the mx track. so i would only use the holeshots or turf tammers for the track.

 

Dont get holeshots, they wear too quick, they are made with softer material and they wear very quickly the treads start to crack and peel. Ive had mine for a couple of weeks and they are already doing it, Razrs dont do this, get razrs or tamers

 

i think i'm going to get the turf tamers, i just have 2 more questions
1. how do they hold up in a wet or kinda muddy track?

2. And what do u recomend for front tires?

 

The good thing about the tamers is you can adjust them according to how the track conditions are. If it is a loose track, sand and mud, then just take out a few of the ****. This is called grooving. There is alot more to it than just cutting them out but some co., like JL will groove them for you. The only problem with this is once you take them out for a loose track you can't get as much traction on a hard packed track.

On the fronts I would use Holeshots unless you were going to stay away from mud. The grooved radials work good on a track that is not muddy, I have never used them on a muddy track so I don't know about that seems like they would gum up.

The Holeshots are a very versittal tire, meaning they work good everywhere.

 

how do the turf tamers hold up if you don't groove them?

 

They hold up very well as far as wear is concerned but they will clog up with mud.
