A few months ago there was a pic in either Dirtwheels or 4 Wheel Action of a Raptor with 28" tires on the rear (yes thats right, 28" tires!) I was browsing through my old magazines last night and I can't find the issue that had the picture in it. Does anyone know what month's issue that was?

I actually have that magazine laying on my computer stand. It is dirt wheels (June 2002).

 

Hmm...sounds like it would be easy to roll with 28" tires.

 

Theoretically yes...but they weigh almost 4 times as much.

As any 4x4er will tell you, it's not the tread that takes more power to get moving, but the weight of the tire.

 

I have plans on getting adapters made to put a set of 23" rims off of a Navigator on my Raptor. Just gonna use them to ride around with, car shows and stuff.
