I will be buying a Raptor soon and would like to know what kind and size tires are best and also what other add-ons are a must for XC racing. Thanks All.

hey brian, first things first. i'm one of the few that race harescrambles with a raptor. so i am speaking from experience. 1. steering dampener 2. good aftermarket shocks set to your weight and riding style for the front. don't buy something off the shelf. 3. razrs or holeshots 6 ply.20's on the rear and 21's on the front. don't run the stockers unless you have a tire plug kit. save them for winter , they work great in the snow and mud.4. strong hand gaurds. 5. full skids, then you should be ready to go.
get a 02 and you'll be happy.
good luck

You steered the guy perfect.
I would recomend the Maxxis Razor tires.
I can hook him up on parts. Shocks, skids, arms, nerfs, tires, any stock parts he might break, etc.

Also get a good handle bar

Everybody have their opinion what bar to use. Use good name bar like Pro Taper (which I have), Renthal, Tag and so on.

That way it reduced the vibration on your hand and arm. To keep without getting numb

Thanks all. I will for sure buy full skids and probably pro tapers. I am going to try not to do any mods to engine suck as pipe etc. Do you think I will have enough power? I go about 300 lbs but I don't want to spend the $1800 plus on axis shocks right now. Tell me what you guys think.

go to a 12 tooth front sprocket or a 42 in the rear for a little more grunt in the tight stuff.
the rappy makes plenty of power for you.
