The theory behind it is to provide a extremely fine fuel spray into the carb inlet to fill the "gaps" between the fuel droplets from your carb's metering system. It is automatic in that it draws only when needed, taking it's "signal" to feed in fuel from the sonic pulses present from the lean mixture hitting the combustion chamber, this causes a feedback that allows it to draw in the fuel to balance out the mix. It can be tuned on the carb,it has 6 settings on a dial. I have probably not clearly explained it's operation,I am just going off what I read about this a while back. It is fairly simple, just draws fuel from the bottom of the bowl by vacuum,no real moving parts or complex tuning, just test run,set it leaner or richer, and go. I hope I have not totally messed up the explaination of it,I'm sure someone with a more complete understanding can give you a better description.

here is something else...what if I take my fuel screws out of the carbs and take them to a jewler and have a small hole drilled down the top and have a "T" extention soldered in so I can adjust them with my fingers

I have one on my Wolverine- It's piped also larger head pipe with the airbox modded and drilled and had jet kit with needle- ran great. Put stock needle back in and lowered main jet 1 size and installed dial-jet.The throttle response was much better and I could also feel full throttle pull harder. I installed it in the intake boot and it pulls the fuel from the float bowl and sprays it into the carburator in what they call a pre-atomized mist. It's easy to adjust - when it's a hot day I make it a little leaner -when it's cold I richen it a little -takes seconds to do.

I'm sold on it, just bought one for the raptor. $109.95 for the device and $19.95 for the filters for it. Total of 154.85 ($25.00 for overnight shipping) so it better work. They where friendly and answered all my questions, said if I had any more questions about installing it to call. They said when they tested the raptor they opened the airbox and it gained 2.5hp across the board, they added a pipe and just had to clicked it up a notch. I'll let everyone know of my results.

I'm glad you got one -felt like I was the only quad owner in the world with one, just curious if they suggested you to jet down or not to create a leaner condition for it to work. If they did where are you jetted now and where did they suggest you jet to ? I agree with you they are easy to deal with.

After reading up, the theory is too jet down....because the dial-a-jet kit adds more fuel (potentially in a more efficient manner).
2fiftyX, please post as soon as you are dialed in. If they only had to click one notch for an exhaust......hmmm, I wonder if the clicks are large jumps in jetting? Later.

I jetted stock now. They said they opened the air box to lean it out, which was what I was planning anyway. Another reason I went with this kit was that my local dealer said that nobody has anymore jets for the raptor cuz mikuni stopped making them. Sounded like a plea to buy there jet kit that's been sittin on the shelf but this Dial-a-jet COULD be nice.

I believe I would find a different dealer to do business with....lol. One other thing is if the filter gets clogged up....the dial-a-jet stops working.....and you are cruising along unknowingly in a lean condition.
