Have you guys been changing your fuel filters every 5 hrs., like they suggest? Or is ok to go longer?

What about the oil changes? I have heard a few guys talking about paper and metal screen filters for the oil? How much do those cost? Should I change the filter every time(that probly sounds stupid, but I've only changed the filter about 3 times on my Warrior since I got it in 96).

Do the stock plastic footguards hold up well?

Is the chain slider problem fixed? or will I have to replace it often too?

Do the headlights work well?

Any problems with airbox leaks?

Are replacement parts expensive? brake pads, tie rod ends, etc..??

Does the silver plastic hold it's shine pretty well, or does it get scratched up and look like crap pretty easy?

THANKS ALOT

Ok, lets start with the fuel filter. No every 5 hours is the recommended time you can go longer but for the $1.00 it cost why would you?

Paper filters are expensive over time, I have the metal that never needs to be replaced. I'll guess your talking about the metal ones. The newest are over $50. You can do what you want as far as changing the filter. If you get the metal one, Why wouldn't you clean it at every oil change. No comment on the 6 year old quad and three oil filters.

Plastic footguards they should because I Keep my feet on the pegs.

My chain slider is fine after they replaced the material.

Head light light so they work, could they be better, oh yeesss.

Airbox leaks, nope there realy isn't an airbox like you think.

Don't know whaven't replaced anything yet.

I don't have a problem with my Speed's plastic. Pics are in my Sig.

I change my fuel filter and oil (both engine and trans) after every race. It's cheaper in the long run to stay ahead of the maintance. I have the metal oil filter so I just clean it and put it back in every time. If you don't race, I would change all the oil and filter every 10-25 hours or every 3 months (which ever comes first) pending on conditions and how hard you ride.

Where are you getting the fuel filter for a dollar? I'm paying $2.50 for mine at Napa (Wix p/n 3011).

LT250,

I bought some of the FRAMs for 2.50 and they are the same as the 1.00 ones that you can put on your lawn mower. Kragen had a display out with a bunch of them for .99. They look the same have the same design, same paper, same, same, same.

Smitty- the Warrior has a cleanable filter. Not metal, but not paper, some kind of mesh material with a lot more pleats than the metal 'dale one. Like the 'dale only replace it if it get's a hole in it. I've cleaned mine many times.

As for the fuel filter, I went about 8 hours without changing and had no problems. HAven't replaced it for the second time, I've only got about 11 or 12 hours now.

I haven't replaced anything else. Just bought the Pingel kill switch, though!!!!

My bike stopped running--past idling because of a clogged fuel filter... I couldn't belive it either but it fixed it... My bike had about 13 hours on it. Cannondale Tech said change it every 3 hours if racing 5 otherwise and they have had good luck with that. I am considering going to a higher volume cleanable filter...

The 5 hour interval is repeated several times throughout their literature- manuals and bulletins. If you have a staliing or running problem, that's going to be the first thing they ask. Based on those things, I'd say if you want your quad to run right change the filter close to the recommended intervals. The Fram filter is a G4164. It's not real easy to find. The big chains around me(Autozone, Advance Auto, Pep Boys) didn't carry it. The parts place that deals with shops more directly had it. About $2.50.
