2nd best sand tire?
#1
I asked this in the Yammy forum but wanted input from the bomb guys because you have good advice here. Everyone seems set on the Skat trak hauler/extreme tires as being the best. Whats the 2nd best strait paddle tire? How do they compare to the Hauler/Extreme? TIA

I did. Theres one in my town but I know they don't stock them. They'd have to order them. Theres a few others, I'll call around. I'm going to chapparal today to look at tires. They sell sand skate 2. Maybe they'll have some padla brats for me to look at.
P.S. This is why I asked this question here. Even though your the only one with an opinion the Yammy guys haven't respond at all.

You can get them set up in different ways. I did have what was called a stagger cut but they dug holes. For the extra money you can get the comp cut. It will make the tire more flexible and lighter and they go for a round $97 a tire.

Thanks Bill. Chappy doesn't have any and I hate going there. The tire shop guys are mostly smart *** punks and they prooved no different to day. They had one set of 22x11x10 haulers there. They wanted $255.00 plus tax with douglas .125 rims. I wanted at least .160 rims and they said they don't sell them. LMAO Made a joke about getting the .190 for the same as the .125 and the smart azz attitude came around. Chaparral sucks.

Thanks for all your help Bill. I went ahead and got the 22x11x10 Haulers 8 paddle today. I called Sand Tires Unlimited and the other dealers they listed in the area. All were closed for the weekend. One was on a 2 week store wide vacation. The Haulers will do nicely. They look alot better mounted than they did sitting on the shelf. I'm sure I'll be happier with these than the Sand Sharks that I did have. I'll be putting those Sand Sharks on my stock Raptor that I have. FYI I liked the Sand Sharks. I thought they gripped nicly and riding the sides of bowls was a breeze. Take off was vastly improved over my Holeshots. (Thats all I have to compare to) I expect to lose a little grip on the sides of bowls with the haulers but gain some on take offs (Drags). Thanks again.

Generally when you call Sand Tires Unlimited for tires, they will refer you to Joe @ Fullerton Sand Sorts. 714-898-2049
If you need any info on sand tires, call him. I'm pretty sure he sells the Scat-Trak paddles as well.
