Ryan,
I only ran it for a couple hours on Friday for practice and the track was NOT in race condition at all, but it was a lot more stable and the shocks were plush, but didn't bottom. Elka has really improved their valving and setup since I ran their shocks on my 400ex last year, I would tell anyone looking for a quality set of ZPS shocks to try them out. I leave in 45 min for my first race in 3 weeks, that will be the real test.........JIM

Here's the real question, who's the stud on the LT in your Reader's Rides section??

Honestly, you're riding the quad I wish I had. That's alright, all in good time...

Jim,

Quad came out real good! Should have the radiator screens done this week. Scott's been racing too much to build anything.

Thanks for the kind replies all, I ended up getting 2 5th places in the 2 motos. I had arm pump set in real bad the first moto, also got caught on the starting gate; kind of rusty I guess. I pulled the holeshot in the second moto, but after 3 laps, arm pump kicked in and I faded to 5th. I held off the rest of the field though and was pretty happy with my showing. My lap times were improved in the second moto and that is what counts with me. Keep in mind that we ran the 6th moto both times and followed the 250 expert, pros, etc. Those guys really tear up the track with their dirtbikes. Most of the jump faces that they like to "blip" over were toast by the time we got to them, you really had to pick your line on the jump face or end up having to correct in the air; which I don't like to do if I don't have to. Track officials also didn't groom the track during the intermission, that sucked. We have sandy corners that are close to a foot deep by the time we race. I was able to get by a couple of the 2 stroke guys while they were spinning in these areas. The shocks performed great! The wider axle and front end gave me the ability to carry a lot more speed in every part of the track. Who knows I might almost have the performance of a MOTO and just need the pipe and mapping to equal it. I am happy with the mods.

Guy, If you would like I am sure I can hook you up with the "stud" in my reader's rides section...he has a wife, but you never know.........lol

Vito, thanks for the update on the radiator guard; let me know when it is done...no rush........JIM
